About Tara

Tara Gilhousen is an Arizona-based voice actress and US Army veteran who has been part of several indie projects. Her roles include characters for popular video game mods such as Skyrim and Fallout, as well as several audio dramas and an in-progress animated series.
Tara's vocal range is mid-low to high, with an age range from teen to middle-aged adult. She could voice characters from the higher-pitched love-struct anime girl, down to the wounded hero screaming a battle cry, down to a disgruntled soldier shouting insults.

Tara recieved her education in voice acting from The Voice Actor College, where she learned the fundamentals and business aspects of being a voice actor. She also attended several workshops, both in-person and remote with many professional Anime ADR/Casting Directors and Voice actors to include Jason Lord and Shawn Gann from Crunchyroll, Mami Okada from Bang Zoom, and video game Vo/Casting Directors Joel McDonald and Marc Hawes to name a few.

On her free-time, Tara enjoys training in Shinkendo, cosplaying, gaming and going on outdoor adventures with her fiance and Shiba Inu, Ronin.

Testimonials

I’ve worked alongside Tara on several productions, and watching her come into herself as a voice actor has been incredible. Even through periods of self-doubt, she pushed forward with resilience and focus, emerging stronger and more confident in her performances. Tara has an excellent voice for anime, with the emotional range, clarity, and versatility needed to bring characters to life in a way that truly resonates. She takes direction well, delivers consistently strong reads, and approaches every role with professionalism and heart. Tara is the kind of talent casting directors can trust to elevate a project.

Tara has been auditioning for my projects for some time now, and was finally cast for a role in a Skyrim mod of mine. Production was long, but she had patience and held firm for the release, and in the end, she did not disappoint with her work. She perfectly encapsulated an arrogant Nordic Noble in a war-weary land and I was BLOWN AWAY by the result. I am greatly pleased with my decision to cast her, and I look forward to future cooperation with her!

''Tara is possibly the most dedicated voice actor I have ever met in my life. It is obvious that she loves this industry and takes every role seriously. Not only is she talented, punctual and gifted as a talent, but she is a joy to be around and makes the recording experience feel fun opposed to work''.
